When I started The Photographers Workshop in 1982 it was the first commercial darkroom and studio hire centre in the UK. The facility had more than 20 enlargers allowing black and white and colour processing and printing, the studio was a fully equipped professional photographic studio. As part of the service we provided tuition in photography on a 121 and course or workshop basis under the name of The Oxford School of Photography. I have been teaching photography for more than 30 years.
Time and the evolution of photography meant that in about 2009 we closed the darkrooms but embarked on the new and exciting world of teaching digital. Many people invested in equipment but needed help understanding the process so I started teaching digital photography courses. This has expanded so that in three terms a year we offer about 10 – 12 courses each term.
