One of the great pleasures of working in Oxford is the occasional opportunity to gain access to magical places that are out of bounds to most people. Sometimes these are exquisite buildings, or locations that give you outstanding vistas and sometimes that are steeped in Oxford history. I recently had the chance to photograph in Sir Basil Blackwells’s office in Blackwells bookshop on Broad Street and although the space is small it was full of history. The room has been kept as it was, original right down to the pipes in a tray on the ‘Gaffer’s’ desk
